Local media reported today (Saturday) that apart from the economic uncertainty surrounding the Blancos' basketball department, the Croatian center's medical history has also convinced the team not to sign him in the end.
Although Žižić has not suffered significant injuries throughout his career, he was absent for six weeks in January this year due to a rare balance problem. Žižić suffered for many weeks from dizziness, vomiting, nausea and acute earache, and was diagnosed with damage to the vestibular system responsible for balance. During this time, he found it difficult to stand for long. It is not clear whether this is a chronic or spotty phenomenon in Žižić, but in Spain it is claimed that this information lit a red light in the Blancos.

Žižić previously told the Croatian media about the difficulty he was experiencing in those days, saying "this is the hardest thing I have faced in my life. I have had a hard time performing the most basic actions, but I hope now it is behind me."
In Spain, too, there is no doubt that the main reason for Real's relinquishment of Žižić, who has already reached agreements in principle with the team, is economic. The uncertainty surrounding the future of Pekondo Campasso, who wants to fulfill the NBA dream and leave this summer, caused a stalemate at the Blancos in the transfer market, and among other things also prevented the completion of the deal with Zizic.
The Blancos are expected to start the season in Spain with a missing squad, with no senior coordinator in place of Campaso and no additional center alongside Eddie Tavares. According to estimates, Real will wait for the end of the NBA season to sign two players who will be ejected from the best league in the world.
