The veteran striker may find himself out of Barcelona after six years, although he holds a contract for next season. Suarez insists he is not in Barcelona just because of his close friendship with Leo Messi. "We have a great relationship on and off the field, that's true, but that does not mean I'm playing because I'm his friend," he said. "I feel the support of the fans, and it gives me a lot of strength."
He claims he is willing to stay as a bench player as well. "Competition is always a good thing. If the coach decides I should not be a car player, I have no problem helping the team in a different role, any role they give me. I think I am still able to contribute to the club."
Either way, while Suarez maintains relative ambiguity, his brother Pablo is far less diplomatic. Last night, the brother of Suarez tweeted an unequivocal message: "They behave unfairly and forget everything, but that's probably how it is in football.
