Barcelona has announced that its new Bosnian midfielder, Miralem Pjanic, has been infected with the new Corona virus.
The Catalan club said in a statement that Pjanic, 30, who moved from Juventus at the end of last June, "tested positive after suffering some discomfort and was in good health and isolated at home."
He added, "For this reason, the player will not travel to Barcelona for 15 days to join the team."
This development comes at a time when indications are increasing that Argentine star Lionel Messi will leave Barcelona this summer, which is something that if the Spanish club will lose its most prominent players throughout history, and Uruguayan Luis Suarez is close to leaving Camp Nou, the stronghold of Barcelona, according to news reports.
The Spanish club sacked coach Quique Setien after losing to Baren Munich, 8-2 in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last week, in a defeat described as "humiliation", and Barcelona appointed Ronald Koeman as his successor.
With this defeat, Barcelona emerged empty-handed from the leagues at the domestic and continental levels.
