PSG-Bayern: Navas holder, Verratti and Icardi substitutes

2020-08-23T13:37:09.978Z

The return from injury of the Costa Rican goalkeeper is the only change Thomas Tuchel has made from the semi-final.

While PSG supporters flock to the side of the PSG players' hotel in Lisbon on this sunny morning, a few hours before the Parisian club's first Champions League final, the team composition has leaked. L'Equipe and RMC had confirmation of the trend that had emerged the day before after the last training session at the Luz stadium.

Thus, Keylor Navas will be able to start ten days after his right hamstring injury contracted against Bergamo (2-1). The Costa Rican goalkeeper will therefore try to win his fourth Champions League after his hat-trick with Real Madrid. Sergio Rico, Navas' replacement against Leipzig (3-0), was not unworthy but the Parisian staff is counting on the influence, experience and talent of his No. 1 against the German offensive armada.

In midfield, Paredes will be much preferred to Verratti at kick-off. The Italian midfielder probably does not have 90 minutes in the legs after recovering from his calf stroke that deprived him of the quarter-final. He had already been benched for the semi-final (he had played the last seven minutes) but this time Verratti could get more playing time if his physique allows it and the situation calls for it.

The Herrera-Marquinhos-Paredes trio, excellent against Leipzig, will therefore be back at work this Sunday evening at 9 p.m. In attack, Mauro Icardi once again bears the brunt of the indisputable tenure of Di Maria, Neymar and Mbappé.
