Munich (AP) - Alphonso Davies used the praise of Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a wish after Bayern Munich's Champions League triumph.
"Can I come home for a week, please?" asked the Canadian full-back in the social networks, provided his message with a picture of folded hands and thanked for the warm words from home.
Davies (19) moved from the Vancouver Whitecaps to Munich in early 2019. In the Corona crisis, the Federal Foreign Office is currently warning of "unnecessary, tourist trips" including to Canada. For those authorized to enter the country, a plan is required on how to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. After their victory in the Champions League and their return to Munich, the Bayern professionals got two weeks off until training starts. "You made the Canadians out there proud," said Prime Minister Trudeau Davies.
