Idniana Pacers fired team coach Nate McMillan tonight (Wednesday). The organization announced the departure of the coach in a post on social media. The announcement came after the Pacers lost 99-87 to Miami in Game 4 and were relegated from the playoffs after a resounding sweep in the first round. McMillan coached at Indiana starting in the summer of 2016 and finished his career on the team after four years.
Pacers president Kevin Pitchard said: "On behalf of the organization I want to thank Knight for the years he has given the team. It has been a very difficult decision for us." During his time at Indiana, his team recorded a balance of 183 wins against 136 losses, while in the playoffs his balance is 3 wins and 16 losses. The amount of wins Macmillan has achieved as the Pacers coach puts him in third place as the organization's head coach.
