The sports bowlers from the Zugspitzkreis have to wait: The season start in September will not work. Second division promoted FC Seeshaupt is not affected by the postponement.

The decision is not really surprising given the current Corona situation. The Association Sports Committee of the Bavarian bowling decided in an unscheduled meeting to start the game later than originally planned.

The start of the season is therefore not in calendar week 37 (7th to 13th September), but - if the situation permits - in calendar week 41 (5th to 11th October). The decision applies to all leagues in the BSKV area, i.e. from the district classes up to the Bavarian leagues. The national leagues are not affected by the postponement. The women of FC Seeshaupt, who have been promoted to the 2nd League South (we reported), will start the new season on Sunday, September 13th. The team starts off against SKC Gaisbach (Baden-Württemberg).

Sports bowling: survey results among Bavarian clubs sobered

According to a statement, the basis for the decision of the Bavarian Association Sports Committee was a survey by the Presidium among the more than 700 clubs in the Free State. It was asked whether the home arena is ready for competitions and whether the clubs are also ready to take part in matches. 557 clubs gave feedback. The evaluation "showed a sobering picture, however," according to the BSKV. For various reasons, at least 58 of 483 track systems are currently not available for gaming operations. Some of the railway facilities have not yet been approved by the operators for sports operations, and some protection and hygiene standards cannot be implemented.

In addition, 76 clubs reported that they were not ready to play either all or part of their teams. In addition, there were a large number of questions relating to the handling of game operations that are currently preoccupying the clubs. "All these aspects, but also the assessment of the general development of the corona pandemic, have persuaded the association sports committee, weighing as many interests as possible, to postpone match days one to three," said the association. With a start on October 10th, the bowlers would start on the fourth matchday according to the already created schedule.

Sports bowling: Start with a three-step plan

There is a three-stage plan with different dates for starting the season. These are: Plan A: Season start calendar week 41 (10/11 October); Plan B: Start of the season, calendar week 45 (November 7th / 8th); Plan C: Season start calendar week 1 (9/10 January). One thing is clear: If you can play, there will be no relegated athletes. The ascent, however, is carried out regularly. "All members of the sports committee are also aware that the decision made will not meet with approval and understanding from everyone," said the BSKV.
