1. For years, Avi Ben Shimol has been one of the top coordinators in Israeli basketball, but this summer he reached a crossroads and got into trouble. 

Ben Shimol was the king of assists in the league on 18/19, led Hapoel Eilat to the Final Four and was one of the most prominent coordinators in the league. In the last season the picture has changed a lot because of the not-so-simple injury issue. He only played in 25 games where he dropped to an average of 25 minutes, compared to 30 minutes the season before. His dominance in the south diminished, and Ziv Ben Zvi was in most of the games the opening and leading coordinator of the team.

When you also take into account the advanced age of Ben Shimol (35) - the current vacation has become for him a summer of survival in the Premier League. It was clear that he would not be in demand as in the past, and if Maccabi Haifa had not signed him last weekend, it is possible that his choice would have been relegation to the second division.

Still, if physically everything goes well with Ben Shimol, the Greens may have made one of the summer moves - take Ben Shimol, and you got: a game manager at the highest level, personality, experience, great knowledge. Coordinator and a half assistant coach.

2. A week before Ben Shimol signed in Haifa, another coordinator, Yiftach Ziv, decided that he would stay in Gilboa / Galil. This may have surprised many, but it was the right move for him.
