Lionel Messi arrives for Barcelona training (from Twitter)

Leo Messi's aggressive interview did its thing: more than 7,500 Barcelona executives voted in favor of ousting President-elect Jose Maria Bartomeu, as part of a no-confidence vote proposed by the presidential candidates.

Jordi Para, the presidential candidate leading the fight and calling for an immediate election, announced today (Tuesday) that more than half of the signatures needed to complete the move have been achieved.

"Given the situation and circumstances, 7,500 votes is a lot. We are very pleased with the pace of voting, and it seems that a lot of credit goes to Leo Messi. The support of Joan Laporta also helps," said Mark Duchess, spokesman for Jordi Farra.

Opponents of Bartomeu will have to get 16,520 signatures by September 17 to reach the target, but Barcelona again suspect Bartomeu is operating in non-kosher ways: This morning, amid reports of high voter turnout, the site where the vote took place was under cyber attack.

Automatically, the attack was suspected as an attempt by the president to block the move.

Also in Barcelona: Kia Yoravician, Filipe Coutinho's agent, confirms he will remain in the team this season after returning from a loan spell at Bayern Munich.

"Koeman called him right after the game between Barcelona and Bayern in the Champions League, and told him he was building on him a lot. He asked him to come back and said he would have a key role in the team he is building," he said.

"All the signs are that Barcelona are going to change dramatically. Their whole game philosophy will change compared to last year, and players like Coutinho, Dembele and Griezmann should be an important part of the puzzle," he said.
