Irishman Sam Bennett won the tenth stage of the Tour de France.
With that, Bennett also took over the green jersey of the points classification that competitor Peter Sagan had previously worn.
After 29 year old Bennett, Caleb Ewan and Sagan crossed the finish line.
The yellow jersey will be kept by the Slovenian Primoz Roglic, who is still 21 seconds ahead of the Colombian defending champion Egan Bernal.
After the mountains and the first day of rest, it was 168.5 kilometers along the Atlantic coast.
166 drivers tackled the stage after all of the corona tests taken on Monday were negative.
The Swiss Stefan Küng and Michael Schär immediately took the lead, but their lead over the peleton never grew to more than two minutes.
On the flat route from Ile D'Oleron to Ile de Re, the sprinters were again in demand.
Matteo Trentin won the intermediate sprint.
Before that, there were two falls in the main field.
Among other things, Tadej Pogacar was there, the winner of the ninth stage.
He needed a new bike and ended up in 25th place.
Sam Bewley had to give up as a result of his injuries.
The German Emmanuel Buchmann was not involved in the falls, but lost contact with the main field.
He didn't finish until about five minutes later.
The best German was André Greipel in sixth.
On Wednesday, the Tour of France continues with the eleventh stage over 167.5 kilometers from Châtelaillon-Plage to Poitiers.
