The organizers did not allow themselves to be stopped by the coronavirus for the 35th edition this year and had ensured a corresponding format that took into account the provisions of the Bavarian Infection Protection Ordinance.

At the start in Augsburg were Mikki Heiß (Iffeldorf) as well as Sabine Nagel and Christian Scholz (both Peiting).

Relay marathon: circuit through the Siebentischwald

The “Tierhold Ladies” - named after a car dealership - ran hot and landed in third place in the overall team standings (2:57:14 hours).

In the relay marathon, six athletes form a team (women / men / mixed) - each starter in the team completes exactly 7.0325 kilometers on a circuit through the Siebentischwald.

In the end, this adds up to the marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers.

Mikki Heiß (45), who for years was one of the best German marathon runners as an athlete at LG Regensburg, ran her part in number six in 26:51 minutes.

The Iffeldorfer was the fastest within her team.

The second fastest time was achieved by Charlotte Heim, who needed 27:07 minutes for the distance.

The “Tierhold Ladies” also included Hanna Sassnink (29:00), Maria Hillebrand (35:15), Katharina Weimer (30:00) and Alex Altmann (29:06).

The first place went to a women's team from PTSV Rosenheim (2:43:46) with the fastest of the day Amelie Gugglberger (25:48) in front of a sextet from TG Viktoria Augsburg (2:48:58).

Fourth place went to the LG Allgäu team (3:00:51), for which Sabine Nagel competed.

The triathlete started the race as second in her team and ran the circuit in 28:41 minutes.

She was third fastest in her team behind Sophia Rommel (28:08) and Natalie Rauh (28:29).

In the men's category, the first set of TG Viktoria Augsburg won with 2:22:16 hours, just ahead of PTSV Rosenheim (2:23:54) and the "Team Hansi powered by Tierhold" (2:25:40).

Christian Scholz from Peitingen ran for the “LG Allgäu II” team, with whom he finished ninth (2:41:09).

Scholz completed the circuit in 26:00 minutes - he was the second best of his team behind Thomas Langer (25:46).

For the men, 31 teams came into the evaluation.

The best of the day was Job Gebisso (TG Viktoria): The 25-year-old with Ethiopian roots needed 22:12 minutes.
