PSG: Neymar and Navas hoped for against OM

The Brazilian and the Costa Rican goalkeeper resumed training on Friday. They could play against Olympique de Marseille on Sunday

The boss is back!

PSG, relieved of the vast majority of its stars in Lens (0-1 defeat), could obtain significant reinforcements against OM on Sunday night at the Parc des Princes.

In addition to AS Roma defender Alessandro Florenzi whose loan has been formalized and who could be qualified, Keylor Navas and especially Neymar are on the way to return to the clasico.

The Costa Rican goalkeeper and the Brazilian striker participated in collective training on Friday.

This means that the two men are done with the fortnight provided for by the health protocol of the League for any player positive for the coronavirus.

Technically Neymar and Navas could even have resumed against Lens, Thursday evening, since the onset of symptoms related to the disease was detected at home on August 27.

This is what appears on the documents submitted by PSG to the Covid commission of the LFP.

On the 15th day, after suspicion of the disease or after a positive test, the player has the possibility of putting on his crampons.

But the risk would have been too great for two players who had not done any collective training before the trip to the North.

Already in the starting team?

The Parisian staff preferred not to rush their return.

This allowed them in particular to take a serological test demonstrating their immunity, as recommended by the League.

“I'm back to training, super happy…”, posted Neymar on the Twitter network as soon as the session was over.

The Brazilian also added a 'Coronaout' hashtag, appearing to mean the virus is behind him.

Except on a feverish day, the Parisian number 10 has never really developed symptoms, which suggests that if his feelings are good this Saturday and Sunday when he wakes up, he could be the holder at the start of the clasico.

Identical considerations govern the return of Keylor Navas.

The Costa Rican will also have to present the pledges of good physical shape, even if his position does not require the same level of energy expenditure as a field player.

But in view of Bulka's performance on Thursday in Lens, his tenure is highly hoped for by the staff against OM.

Icardi and Marquinhos out of time

Two other elements are also likely to appear, if not on the pitch at kick-off, at least on the scoresheet.

Indeed, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes are expected this Saturday in training with their teammates.

The two Argentines will also have finished their fortnight, but for them the deadline will be very short since they will have only benefited from a complete session plus the muscular awakening on Sunday morning at the Camp des Loges.

It's not much, even if we remember that last summer, in China, Thomas Tuchel did not hesitate to start Marquinhos, against Rennes during the Champions Trophy, with only two real training sessions in his legs.

Difficult to know at this time what will decide the coach of PSG.

Again it will depend on the feelings of the two players.

On the other hand, the case seems heard for Icardi and Marquinhos.

Barring a huge surprise, these two, also positive for the coronavirus, will be out of time to face Olympique de Marseille.

Ditto for Mbappé tested positive with the Blues last Monday.
