They eat life to the fullest.

As they bite into their medal won at the recent European Under-23 Championships, Ile-de-France rowers Pauline Rossignol-Tollard, Inès Boccanfuso and Aurélie Morizot have the ardor due to their youth.

For their first international release after deconfinement, they made an impression.

Friends in the city, the three young women, who have known each other since the Ile-de-France selections at the age of 15, are happy to share this moment of happiness together.

"This gives an even more particular flavor to these results", savor Pauline, Inès and Aurélie in chorus.

Pauline Rossignol-Tollard is already dreaming of the Paris Olympics

To say that Pauline Rossignol-Tollard was impatient to return to competition is a no-brainer.

From the height of her 1.86 m, the rower of Aviron Marne Joinville was like a lioness in a cage during the period of confinement.

“I felt like I was hearing an old broken record over and over again!

»She blurted out.

So when the European Under-23 Championships took place the first weekend of September in Duisburg (Germany), the Val-de-Marnaise let go of the horses with its boat on the four barred.

“What's great is that we also broke the world record of six seconds held by the Italians.

"A result which gives a little balm to the heart of Pauline Rossignol-Tollard.

“When I learned of the cancellations of the French and then the World Championships, I was disgusted.

I wondered why I was training so hard.

That's how I really understood that the goal remains the Paris Olympics.

“For the Joinvillaise, rowing is a family affair.

“My mother and my aunt were top athletes.

My mother was vice-world champion in the 1990s. My grandmother also rowed.

My world record drove them crazy with joy.

“At 20, Pauline Rossignol-Tollard, who has been training at Insep since 2016, when she joined the French team, has just taken a new step by signing a contract with the army.

“The objective is the 2024 Olympics. It would be general to win a medal.

"

Inès Boccanfuso savoring the present moment

It's a bit of a surprise to the chef.

Two months ago, the European Championships were not even in Inès Boccanfuso's plans.

The young member of SNBS Courbevoie thwarted all the laws to finally win a sublime bronze medal in lightweight four-scoop.

“I took part in the qualifying events as a guest in July in Vaires-sur-Marne and managed to be selected for the Euro.

For Inès, the first attempt turned into a master stroke.

“It was my very first international competition,” she says.

And I bring back a medal.

It's pretty amazing.

Unfortunately, the young woman who is studying management accounting does not look any further.

“The lightweight quadruple scull is not on the program for the Paris Olympics.

There will only be the four-seater all categories.

But given my size, I won't have the necessary wingspan.

“His 1.71 m cannot allow him to hope for more.

Whatever for this young woman, the future is elsewhere: “I like to organize everything.

I had set myself the goal of returning to the French team, it's done.

This was possible thanks to my accounting school, Ines Expertise, which agreed to adjust my schedules.

Without that, I would never have been able to bring home this medal.

Aurélie Morizot gives herself two more years

AURELIE MORIZOT (BOULOGNE 92) / DR

After a rather frustrating year 2019 punctuated by fourth places at the Worlds and the Euro, Aurélie Morizot won her second international medal.

In the same light-weight quad boat as Inès Boccanfuso, the Boulogne 92 rower is starting to make a name for herself in the small world of rowing.

But also in his family.

Little sister of Vincent Morizot, the triathlete specializing in Ironman, the 21-year-old gives herself two more years in this discipline.

“Like Inès and Pauline, we worked hard during confinement.

We had a rower and a home trainer (indoor bike) at home.

It's nice to see that we've made good progress.

This medal is a great reward.

We end this strange season on a good note.

“For Aurélie, the rest will take place next season.

"I would like to win a new medal at the 2021 Worlds," she says.

Afterwards, I will stop the high level to devote myself to my professional future.

»Currently in the third year of a bachelor's degree in economics and management, Aurélie Morizot would like to work in the health sector.

“Rowing requires a lot of discipline.

I want to bring this quality to improve the organization in hospitals.

Management is something that attracts me.
