Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva won the doubles competition at the US Open.

The German-Russian team prevailed 6: 4 and 6: 4 against the number three seeded Nicole Melichar (USA) and Xu Yifan (China).

For Siegemund and Zvonareva it is the first tournament that they have played together.

Since 1985 no German had reached the double-finals in Flushing Meadows.

At that time, Claudia Kohde-Kilsch won the title alongside Helena Sukova.
