After 57 years of absence, Reims makes a successful return to the European chessboard

Stade de Reims passed the second preliminary round of the Europa League by winning the field over Servette Geneva (1-0).

57 years after its last European match, Reims won its place for the third qualifying round of the Europa League after its victory (1-0) on the lawn of Servette de Genève on Thursday in Switzerland.

The Champagne club will travel to the Hungarians of Fehervar next Thursday to try to win their ticket for the play-offs, the last stage before the group stage of C3.

Jostled by brave Swiss in a Geneva stadium behind closed doors, David Guion's players scored very early thanks to the Kosovar international Valon Berisha (4th) and then resisted as best they could the onslaught of the Genevans.

The Champenois, who took only one point in three days of the championship and remained on two defeats, thus recorded their first success of the season in all competitions.

But they will not really have time to savor this success because a busy schedule awaits them in the coming days with two trips, to Metz on Sunday in L1 and in Hungary next Thursday in the Europa League, then the reception of Paris SG three more days late!
