The docu-series The Last Dance ("The Last Dance"), which documented the Chicago Bulls in the 1997/98 season, won the Emmy Award for "Best Documentary Series of the Year" tonight (Saturday through Sunday).
The series mainly accompanied Michael Jordan in his final season in the Bulls' luxury team uniform in the 90s, gained tremendous worldwide acclaim and became the most watched docu-broadcaster in ESPN history.
The series aired on April 19 and ended on May 17, with two episodes airing on ESPN every Sunday and being aired on Netflix the next day.
The fact that it was broadcast at the time of the outbreak of the Corona virus, when many people were locked up at home, helped it become a hysterical hit.
NBA players, especially those active who barely got to watch Jordan as kids, tweeted: "I was never excited to watch a movie or series," "Michael Jordan is from another world," "I could now watch 10 episodes in a row," and more.

The series received very wide coverage and caused controversy for weeks in the U.S. According to reports, many past actors who were Jordan's partners in the same Chicago, were furious at the way they were portrayed in the series. Horace Grant said, "90 percent of that was not true." There's a lot of talk about Scotty Pippin, who's always considered Jordan's 'No. 2' and rage.
Craig Hodges, who played for the Bulls, said:
I did not like the way it was painted, I do not understand why it happened.
Without Scotty, Jordan would not have won.
