Coronavirus: Insep also had to review its copy

The 400 students of the high-level sport center have adapted to the health instructions imposed by the establishment.

It's a special start, as for more than 12 million students who have returned to school.

At Insep (National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance), located in the Bois de Vincennes, nearly 400 students follow a course, from 3 rd to BTS.

As in the public and private establishments of the country, the health protocol was followed to the letter, in compliance with health measures.

In mid-September, we were able to accompany Toscane, Cyrielle, and Ambrine - respectively fencer, footballer, and boxer - in class, in training, and up to boarding school for the last two.

Last March, the flagship of high-level sport did not escape confinement.

At the end of June, he was affected by a sordid affair of racist tags, which led to a complaint.

Today, habits are back.

Training has resumed for everyone.

And the lessons too.

Here, the classes have between 10 and 15 students per lesson, so don't worry about respecting the rules of distance.

Students, teachers, administrative staff: all those who frequent building D daily wear the mask.

Defensive midfielder in the U19s of Montpellier, Cyrielle (17) is entering her third year at Insep.

Intern, she has lived alone in her room since her arrival at the age of 14: “Since I came here, I have acquired a sense of responsibility and more maturity,” says the young woman, originally from Aurillac.

The return to school was as I expected.

Since our return, we have been regularly reminded of the sanitary measures to follow.

It would be very boring to miss a fortnight of training and infect my teammates when I meet them at the weekend… ”Since the end of June, Cyrielle has been checked ten times, always with a PCR test.

"We are all aware that as athletes, there are more obligations"

Also in Terminale, Toscane (16 years old) is from Charenton (Val-de-Marne) The young sabreuse, European champion U21, discovered Insep this year like around 150 other comrades.

A neighbor, she is also one of the only two day students among the students.

"The Covid-19 test was mandatory to start classes," explains the student, who intends to specialize in mathematics and geopolitics.

When they go out, people our age don't always put on the mask.

Here, we are all aware that as athletes, there are more obligations.

Even when we come back to family.

Like his colleagues, Aurélien Terracol, professor of SVT (Life and Earth Sciences) also had to review his copy of this new way of living in a group: "The Covid has complicated the implementation of practical work, with the obligation to disinfect the equipment after each use.

Here everyone participates with the maintenance staff.

The relationship with the students has also changed a bit.

Because of the mask, we have more difficulty making ourselves understood.

It is necessary to speak louder, and it is to be feared that the more timid students will never speak.

August 24 was a special day for 17-year-old Ambrine.

In the 1st year of the Staps license (physiotherapy option), the smiling young boxer arrived from Toulouse with all her family for the site discovery meeting, for minors: “My father, whom I am very close to, was reassured.

Without giving us instructions, we understood that it is better to avoid those who do a sport other than ours.

In training, we have the right to contact but we limit.

It's logic.

"Intern, Ambrine is also alone in her room:" It allows me to find myself.

And that has nothing to do with sharing germs.

"I can feel them well, my little interns"

At Insep, 99% of the campus is internal.

In building I, Anne Templet is responsible for the 130 minors, half of whom are new: “The young people and their families have understood what is at stake, launches the dynamic five-year-old, a real mother hen.

From the beginning of August, the start of the school year was divided into 5 weekends instead of two.

The groups were therefore smaller in number, which made it possible to privilege contacts with families.

“We have completed the internal regulations, with, among other things, a direction of movement and instructions in the elevator, adds Anne Templet.

There were a few calls to order, but our athletes quickly assimilated that we do not laugh with the protocol.

I can feel them well, my little interns.

"For several years, Insep has claimed 100% success in the Bac, with an average of 60% mentions.
