Gareth Bale is set to stay at Tottenham for more than one season - his agent Jonathan Barnett made it clear today (Tuesday).

Barnett was interviewed by the BBC and admitted that although the Welsh star has returned to the club on loan for one season from Real Madrid, he believes Tottenham are the team where he will end his career.

"If all goes well, there will be no reason for problems. Tottenham are the team Gareth wants to play for, there is no reason he will not continue for another season," said the controversial agent, who has "gotten involved" with the media many times before.

"I very much hope that the possibility of returning to Real Madrid will not be on the agenda. Gareth will be so successful at Tottenham, that he and they will want to reach an agreement with Real at the end of the season."

Barnett admits "Gareth needs to regain his love of the game and get back to showcasing his abilities, but it's up to him. It's not that he's on probation or anything, his career achievements are more impressive than any player in the UK in my opinion, so he's in good shape."

Barnett once again attacked Real Madrid and its fans, claiming that Bale deserved better treatment given the achievements and titles he shared.

"They did not treat him with the proper treatment of a player who achieved so much for the club. This is a serious mistake. With his achievements at Real, they should kiss the ground he is treading on - not trample on his honor. I do not want to blame anyone but what Real fans are "They did Gareth shame and disgrace. It didn't help anyone."
