Luis Suarez leaves Barcelona in tears (from Twitter)
After five six years, 283 appearances, 198 goals, four Spanish championships, four trophies and one Champions Cup, Luis Suarez has left Barcelona.
The veteran Uruguayan striker arrived today (Wednesday) at Ciutat Esportiva, Barcelona's training ground, to say goodbye to his teammates after his transfer to Atletico Madrid was finally agreed, after days of tension.
Suarez took part in Barcelona's training session, after which he received the news that the deal had been closed, as part of which he would move to Colchoneros for a token sum (no more than one million euros, according to estimates).
Suarez was excited to say goodbye mainly to Leo Messi, who has become his close friend over the years.

Suarez will join Atletico Madrid after a stormy and emotional summer, which began with a defeat to Bayern Munich and continued in tension with the club.
Suarez reportedly received the message that he was not from Barcelona in a brief phone call with new coach Ronald Koeman.
He wanted to stay at the club and continue to collaborate with Leo Messi, but Barça showed him the way out.
Suarez initially planned to sign for Juventus, but the deal did not materialize, and now he is simultaneously dealing with the closure of the latest details at Atletico, also in the new affair in which his name is linked - in which he is accused of cheating on an Italian passport test.
Suarez arrived in Perugia last week with the aim of conducting the assessment in Italian, and allegedly illegally completed it, even though he does not know Italian at all.
An investigation was opened today by the Perugia police and demanded to receive all the documents related to Suarez's test.
"I think all the reports and rumors about the test are exaggerated. Suarez has come to Italy to test his condition. We have faith in the court, and we hope that Suarez will come out clean," Gabriela Gravina, president of the Italian Football Association, tried to reassure.
