The Egyptian player, Mayar Sharif, qualified for the third round of the Roland Garros tennis tournament after defeating American Katie McNally in two sets without a response.
Mayar beat McNally 6-2 6-4 to qualify for the third round and set a date with Italian Julia Montecone in the next round of the tournament, hoping to achieve a breakthrough by participating in the final stages of the Roland Garros Championship, one of the Grand Slam championships.
In the last match, Mayar Sharif beat Colombian Maria Osorio to become the first Egyptian tennis player to win a Grand Slam tournament.
