PSG-Angers could argue behind closed doors

As of this Saturday, the gauge of gatherings increases from 5,000 to 1,000 people in Paris. The question of closed doors arises at the Parc des Pri

The ax fell on Wednesday evening.

The Minister of Health Olivier Véran indicated that the gauge of gatherings was reduced from 5,000 to 1,000 people in large cities like Paris.

Professional clubs in the capital like PSG are directly affected and several options are now on the table.

The finalist of the last Champions League has received twice since the start of the new season: Marseille (0-1) and Metz (1-0) in front of nearly 4,000 spectators each time, a total which corresponds to the authorized quota apart from some 1,200 accredited people.

But in view of the reception in Angers, Friday October 2, new questions arise.

As indicated by L'Equipe on Wednesday evening, the total closed door (apart from the officials and accredited) is a track studied by the PSG.

But no option is yet privileged, we assure the Parisian club.

As has been the case for several months, the ticketing service is in turmoil and is looking for the most appropriate solutions based on several criteria.

With or without the accredited

The club's finances are particularly at stake. Since the start of the health crisis, PSG has stopped collecting monthly payments owed by its subscribers (excluding hospitality, sponsors).

Ticket sales have logically collapsed.

An organized match, even in front of 5,000 people, was therefore mini good news.

But the organization of the reception of 1000 spectators only raises the following economic question: is it more expensive than that of a match behind closed doors?

The PSG must also determine, in relation with the prefecture, if the new tonnage of 1000 people includes the accredited (players, staff, officials, media…) or if it comes in addition.

The different scenarios are in the hands of the Parisian management.

President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi will make the final decision.
