The former Turkish national team player said the 46-year-old Ashik got into a big mess in an ugly divorce and it turns out that his wife, Yagur Ashik, even hired an assassin to murder him.
This is what the Turkish newspaper "Hurright" reports, where it is alleged that Mrs. Ashik offered the assassin 1.1 million euros for the mission.

Yagmor's plot failed after the assassin turned to Amra Ashik and told him about the plan.
Ashik and her partner Ardi Songor will now end up in custody and will soon be charged with attempted murder.
Yagmor's interrogation transcripts include a quote from him: "Once she brought me a piece of meat and wanted it left in it. I tried to shoot, but I couldn't, I closed my eyes."
Because Songor was unable to commit the murder himself, he contacted a killer who had previously sat in jail for murder.
Said Vigmor Ashik got married in 2012 and they have three children in common.
However, they live separately and wage a very ugly divorce war for a long time.
Ashik, 46, was a stopper who played for three of Istanbul's luxury clubs: Fenerbahce, Glatsray and Shiktash, and has 34 appearances for Turkey and two goals.
He was a partner of the Turkish squad in the two biggest moments of glory of the team: third place in the 2002 World Cup and semi-finals of Euro 2008.
