Spanish club Atletico Madrid announced today that it has signed a contract with Uruguayan player Luis Suarez after moving from Barcelona, rival in the Spanish Premier League.
Reuters quoted Atletico Madrid as saying in a statement, "With the arrival of Suarez, Atletico will have a wonderful goal-scorer with tremendous experience in Europe, who is known for his commitment on the field and is one of the best players in the world in his position."
Suárez, 33, joined Atletico Madrid in a free transfer deal with a two-year contract after agreeing to terminate his contract with Barcelona a year before his end, although the Madrid club will pay the Catalan club seven million dollars in bonuses.
