Max Nagl had a plan and it worked.

With a win in Opatov, he secured the Czech championship early.

Now it's off to Tensfeld.

Weilheim / Opatov - The championship "is in the bag", stated Max Nagl with satisfaction in his "Instagram" post.

As planned by him, the motocross professional from Weilheim achieved the overall victory in the international Czech championship ahead of schedule.

This means that the 33-year-old KTM rider can now skip the last event of the series and present himself to the German fans at the ADAC MX Masters race in Tensfeld, which is taking place at the same time.

In the penultimate race of the Czech championship in Opatov (around 170 kilometers east of Prague), the former runner-up and third place in the World Championship once again dominated the action.

What Nagl showed the fans and the competition was “a demonstration”, according to the Czech Motocross Association on its website.

In the MX1 class, he won the day with a maximum of 50 points.

The biggest rival of Nagl in the overall standings, the Czech Vaclav Kovar, had to be satisfied with 33 points and third place in the daily standings in Opatov.

Thus, the German, who competed for the “Haas Racing Team” in the Czech Republic, cannot be ousted from the top position in the last race on October 4th in Petrovice, because the gap between the two drivers is 59 points.

Nagl has won eight out of eleven races

In the qualifying race, Nagl took second place behind the Czech Martin Krc.

The local hero was only 41 tenths of a second faster on his fastest lap on the 1650 meter course.

In each of the races, the German demonstrated his class at the start.

He took the "holeshot" twice, so he was the first to turn into the first corner.

Subsequently, he led the field.

In the first run, the title favorite crossed the finish line with a ten-second lead over Krc.

In the second race, Nagl also had everything under control, even if he went down briefly.

When crossing the finish line, the gap to second, Filip Neugebauer, was seven seconds.

In the daily standings, the Weilheimer (50) won ahead of Neugebauer and Krc with equal points;

both had collected 42 points.

All in all, Nagl put on an impressive performance in the Czech championship.

He has won eight of the eleven races in six events to date.

In three races he crossed the finish line in second place.

In Kaplice, the second stop, the Lithuanian Arminas Jasikonis was twice better.

Nagl also had problems with the clutch.

The Husqvarna driver is currently in sixth place in the overall championship ranking of the MXGP class.

In Loket, the German was slowed down in the second race by a rebounding gate and a fall that he “only” reached silver.

Next race in Tensfeld

With the early title win, Nagl's plan worked.

Because now he can on 3./4.

Starting October at the ADAC MX Masters in Tensfeld.

Three races (one on Saturday, two on Sunday) are on the program.

The start took place recently - parallel to the races in Opatov.

The day's victory in the MX1 class went to the French World Cup starter and former MX2 world champion Jordi Tixier (KTM) with 70 points.

He won the first two runs and was third in the final race.

The other places are Belgian Brent Van Doninck (66) and Estonian Harri Kullas (63).

The best German is Henry Jacobi (56) in fourth.

The Thuringian recently scored points in the World Cup and is in 19th place there.
