Kirchheim - For the first time since the end of August 2019, the national league footballers of Kirchheimer SC currently have more defeats than wins on the account.
For player-coach Steven Toy this is no cause for concern - even if he is again missing some players and the record in duels with the Lower Bavarian competition is poor.
The Kirchheimers also lost the first leg against the now host FC Passau (Saturday, 3 p.m.).
The restart after the forced Corona break they had certainly imagined differently at Kirchheimer SC - and yet the 1: 2 against FC Töging does not shake the KSC-Elf in their foundations.
"We just lost against a team with high individual quality," said player-coach Steven Toy before the away appearance on Saturday.
Even more: "We're going there with a big chest and want to keep up with FC Passau."
The hosts are three points better after their 2-0 win at TuS Holzkirchen last weekend - and have already won the first leg in Kirchheim 2-1.
The only KSC goalscorer on August 23, 2019 was Maximilian Baitz.
The still ailing midfielder is missing on Saturday, as are Eugen Martin and Fabian Löns, who were further privately prevented, and the injured Ricardo Jacobi, Marco Flohrs and Samuel Kaltenhauser.
The latter had a cut in his eye in the Töging game, and only when the threads in the now sewn wound have been pulled does the 23-year-old return to team training.
“We still have enough people on the bench,” says Steven Toy, downplaying the issue of staff shortages, even if things are getting tight on the defensive.
The 32-year-old takes the fact that Kirchheim's record in the direct duels with the four Lower Bavarian competitors does not exactly speak for his team with only four points from five games: "Reason enough for something to change."
