The Hoeneß factor:
Last season Sebastian Hoeneß, Dieter's son and Uli's nephew, was still the coach of the FC Bayern U23 team.
Now he is responsible for TSG Hoffenheim and has provided the blueprint for all of the following opponents, how you can get over the Munich team when they are weak: compact the midfield, annoy with (counter) pressing, switch with speed when winning the ball and the high one Overplaying the line of defense, taking advantage of the standards.

TSG Hoffenheim defeated FC Bayern Munich 4-1 (2-1) and ended the Munich series of 32 competitive games in a row without defeat.

Strong willingness to change:
Bayern coach Hans-Dieter Flick, who like Serge Gnabry and David Alaba has a Hoffenheim past, wanted to absorb the fatigue after the 120 minutes in the Supercup against FC Sevilla with fresh personnel: Jérôme Boateng, Corentin Tolisso, Alphonso Davies and Joshua Zirkzee were new in the starting line-up, but Robert Lewandowski, among others, was eliminated.
The first half:
Bayern established themselves in the opposing half from the start without developing any danger.
This came about on the other side: In the 17th minute, Ermin Bicakcic headed a corner hit by Dennis Geiger into the net, Davies' rescue operation on the goal line remained unsuccessful.
Then Andrej Kramaric urged Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard to make a bad pass, which TSG striker Munas Dabbur ran into and refined with a lob into the goal (24th minute).
Bayern wobbled, Christoph Baumgartner (30th) and Kramaric (31st) gave away more opportunities.
In the 36th minute Joshua Kimmich circled the ball to make it 2-1 into the goal cross - it was the first and only chance of FCB in the first round.
Hoffenheim did a great job and hit the bar with Kramaric (45th).

The second half:
Dabbur missed the possible 3: 1 twice in the 51st minute for Hoffenheim, who were lucky in the 57th minute that Zirkzee only hit the crossbar.
Flick brought Lewandowski and Leon Goretzka in this fast-paced game, but Hoeneß also remained brave and gave his team offensive signals for the final phase by taking on Mijat Gacinovic and Ihlas Bebou.
Signals that his team knew how to interpret: In the 74th minute, Kramaric laid across Robert Skov in the opposing penalty area, whose shot Manuel Neuer was able to parry with a strong foot defense.
Three minutes later, the Croat decided not to place the ball again, but preferred to put the ball in the left corner himself - 3: 1.
It was the fourth goal of the season from Kramaric, who added the fifth in stoppage time: In a counterattack, Neuer came out of his goal too late and fouled Bebou, Kramaric converted the due penalty perfectly under the crossbar (90 + 2).

That's how many people were allowed into the stadium at TSG's first home game.
As elsewhere, the atmosphere was sparkling despite the comparatively small number of spectators, and the players must have enjoyed being cheered on and whistled again.
And also for the opponents of the result-independent support, such an atmosphere should be grist to the mill.
Maybe something can be saved with the hopefully sooner rather than later return of all fans.
It wouldn't hurt the league.
