After a disappointing previous season, FC St. Pauli started the new season with four points from two games.
After the 2: 2 at VfL Bochum, the club defeated 1. FC Heidenheim 4: 2 (2: 0) in front of 2226 spectators and can only be ousted from second place in the table by local rivals Hamburger SV.
HSV will compete on Monday (8.30 p.m., TV: Sky) at Bundesliga relegated SC Paderborn and would also replace front-runner Aue with a three.
A large part of the good start of FC St. Pauli has one access: Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, who came from SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the summer, was successful again after his two goals in Bochum.
After a powerful initial phase of the guests, who missed an excellent opportunity through Marc Schnatterer in the 11th minute, Kyereh scored with the hosts' first shot on goal.
His long-range shot hit the left corner unbearably in the 26th minute.
In the 34th minute, Heidenheim's Patrick Schmidt unluckily extended a free-kick cross into his own net - 0: 2.
The third shot on Heidenheim's goal was also possible: 16 seconds after the restart, the 20-year-old Jannes Wieckhoff hit the far corner (46th minute).
Maximilian Dittgen muddled the ball over the line in the 70th minute to make it 4-0.
Christian Kühlwetter shortened to 1: 4 in the 78th minute, Tobias Mohr scored two minutes later to make it 2: 4.
The match between 1. FC Nürnberg and SV Sandhausen was overshadowed by a serious injury to guest player Denis Linsmayer.
After a collision with Nikola Dovedan from Nuremberg, Linsmayer had to be treated for minutes.
He was taken from the square and to a hospital on a stretcher with a neck brace on.
According to initial reports, there is a suspected concussion.
A varied game developed in terms of sport: home goalkeeper Christian Mathenia had to show his skills early on.
In the 2nd minute he parried strongly against Nikolas Nartey, three minutes later against Linsmayer.
Nuremberg's Robin Hack missed the first big chance for his team in the 29th minute, which was now getting stronger.
But Sandhausen also remained dangerous: In the 62nd minute, Daniel Keita-Ruel, three-goal scorer on matchday one, only hit the post.
The 1-0 then after a standard situation: Lukas Mühl came completely free after a corner to the header and hit the right corner (77th).
An ex-Karlsruher ensured the victory of VfL Bochum at KSC: Simon Zoller lifted a long-hit ball over keeper Marius Gersbeck in the 14th minute.
The greatest chance for KSC was missed by Babacar Gueye, who hit the post in the 30th minute.
Bochum's Gerrit Holtmann saw yellow-red (68th) because of continued complaining.
The hosts remain goalless and pointless after the 0: 1.
Bochum is at the front with four points.
