Doc Rivers was fired from the Los Angeles Clippers after seven years.
The 58-year-old coach has stood on the team’s lines from City of Angels since the 2013/14 season, but has never been able to march it beyond the playoff semifinals in the West.
This season the Clippers hoped to go all the way, after in the summer they added the reigning champion and MVP of last year's final series, Kwai Leonard and Paul George.
The team finished the regular and shortened season (due to the outbreak of the Corona virus) with a positive balance of 23:49, but did not look good in the playoffs.
The Clippers did beat Dallas 2: 4 in the first round, but surrendered 4: 3 to Denver in the semifinals, losing a 1: 3 advantage.
Rivers, who marched the Clippers to a total balance of 208: 356, published a long farewell post in which he wrote, among other things: "When I got the job, my goal was to make the Clippers a winning organization and bring it a championship. I met most goals, but not all. "Disappointing, I know what this team can achieve. I thank the players, the staff and most importantly, the fans. We went through a lot together and I am grateful for my time at the Clippers."

Rivers' coaching career goes back to 1999, when he began to stand on the lines of Orlando.
He was fired from the Magic shortly after opening his fifth season with the team and was later appointed coach of Boston, where he worked for nine years and with which he won the championship in 2007/8.
In the US there are quite a few estimates that his next job will be in Philadelphia '76.
