A page turns.

Ten days ago, Franck Dourlans, president of the Olympic Boxing Club of Pont-Sainte-Maxence, was elected at the head of the Departmental Committee of Oise, succeeding Compiégnois Bernard Delarue, who did not represent himself.

A new team was thus formed.

Giovanni Boggia, Pont's coach, will be the treasurer.

Creillois Jean-Christophe Vitu, who coached his son Cédric until his defeat to Michel Soro on November 15, will act as secretary.

The new president, who had already presented without success in the previous election, arrives with projects in his head for the 12 clubs in the department.

"We want to promote all types of boxing, educational, amateur, professional, handibox," indicates Franck Dourlans.

With Pont, we teach at Liancourt prison, we would like to do the same in Beauvais.

With the department, we also want to take part in events linked to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Organizing a gala while trying to integrate everyone is also a project.

"

"The Committee will also support club creation projects, particularly in major cities where the discipline is not present, such as Chantilly or Senlis," adds Giovanni Boggia.

Our ambition is to coordinate the actions of the clubs and to obtain financial means to organize more actions.

"

The time is therefore for unity.

The simultaneous presence of Giovanni Boggia and Jean-Christophe Vitu is proof of this.

If the two most iconic coaches in the department have sometimes nurtured fresh relationships in the past, they have now moved on.

“We discussed and we buried the hatchet, assures Jean-Christophe Vitu.

And Giovanni is someone who has some interesting ideas.

He wants to work for all the clubs.

"" There were one or two misunderstandings, but we explained, confirms Boggia.

We've known each other since 1985, we had our last amateur fight against each other.

We are brothers (sic).

“The Pontoise coach will therefore be able to bring his ideas to the departmental level, and even hopes to do so at a higher level.

In a video posted Monday on the BCO Pont Facebook page, he announces that he will run on October 10 to join the Hauts-de-France regional committee.

"I have no chance of being elected, they all know each other and I am not very well known," breathes Yvan Mendy's coach, facing the camera.

But I'm going to come forward to defend club boxing, so that kids can earn their living by taking hits.

In July, he had already uploaded three videos to make proposals in the context of the future election of the president of the Federation.

Boggia militates in particular for the establishment of national divisions within professional boxing.

“I had a lot of feedback,” he concludes.
