The Spanish professional footballer Thiago Alcántara, who switched from Bayern to Liverpool, has tested positive for the corona virus.
The 29-year-old immediately went into quarantine, as Liverpool, the club of the German coach Jürgen Klopp, announced.
Thiago Alcántara was absent from the 3-1 Premier League match against Arsenal on Monday evening, according to the club because of a "small fitness problem".
"Thiago is okay," said team doctor Jim Moxon.
He has only mild symptoms and is already feeling better.
The midfielder moved to Liverpool in the middle of the month for around 30 million euros.
With FC Bayern he was champion seven times and cup winner four times.
