Valencia snatched a 1-0 away win over Real Sociedad in the Spanish Premier League today thanks to a late goal by Maxi Gomez.
Valencia, who had failed to win their previous two matches, took the lead in the 75th minute when Gomez met Uruguay striker Jose Gaya's cross ball from inside the penalty area.
The visiting team appeared to overtake their lead in the fourth minute of stoppage time when Sociedad defender Robin Lonormand headed the ball into the net from close range after a mess in front of goal.
However, the VAR review showed that Sociedad's Arez Elustondo used his arm at the start of the attack, which led to the goal, to touch a ball saved by goalkeeper Jaume Dominic before it reached Lonormand to put it into the net.
