The Brazilian star of Paris SG and the Spanish defender of Marseille, suspected of racist or homophobic comments, were ultimately not sanctioned by the LFP.

The disciplinary committee of the LFP decided, after examining the file, not to sanction the Parisian Neymar and the Marseillais Alvaro Gonzalez, suspected of racism or homophobia during the PSG-OM Classic.

The Brazilian was accused of having exchanged homophobic and racist remarks towards Marseille defenders Alvaro Gonzalez and Hiroki Sakai, but the disciplinary committee found an "unreliability" of the expert report, and an absence of "correlation" between the hearings of the two players and the conclusions of this report, according to its president Sébastien Deneux.

"After examining the case, hearing the players and representatives of the clubs, the Commission notes that it does not have sufficient convincing evidence to allow it to establish the materiality of the facts of discriminatory remarks by the player Alvaro Gonzalez at the against Neymar Jr during the meeting or against Neymar Jr against Alvaro Gonzalez.

Consequently, the Commission decides that there is no grounds for sanction, ”indicates mla LFP in a press release.
