The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) banned Ozan Kabak from FC Schalke 04 for four competitive games after his spit attack in the Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen.
The club announced.
A fine of 15,000 euros was added to this verdict "for grossly unsportsmanlike conduct in the form of attempted assault".
The 20-year-old Kabak spat in the direction of his Bremen opponent Ludwig Augustinsson on Saturday.
The 20-year-old Turkish international apologized the evening after the 1: 3 and asserted that it was not on purpose.
He was later given a yellow-red card for two other fouls.
The suspension is to be served following the automatic suspension of a championship game due to the yellow-red card.
The players and club have agreed to the ruling.
