Although Real Valladolid lost last night (Wednesday) 1-0 to Real Madrid in the fourth round of the Spanish league, Sean Weissman, who started for the first time in the squad, provided a good performance and was not far from scoring against the champion.
Weissman opened the scoring and came up with two good chances, but was stopped by Thibaut Courtois who was last night’s standout Real Madrid player.
Valladolid made it very difficult for the champion, but in the end they went down undefeated and are ranked 18th out of 20.
"He had passion and daring," coach Sergio said of Weissman. "The car is for those who play less. I think he had a great game."
"Weissman was very active in the minutes he played. In the first half he was stopped once and in the second half, his slalom made Courtois at his best."
Marca also noted that "Weissman was arrested with Courtois' fingertips."

After scoring 2 points from a possible 12, Valladolid are hoping to secure their first win of the season on Saturday, so they will host Eibar for a game that opens the fifth round.
Weissman is supposed to be in the lineup in this game as well.
The league will then go on a team break and later on Weissman's team will be hosted by the newcomer, Waska.
