The Altenstadt skydiving jumpers recently achieved one success after the other.

A returnee also knew how to convince.

Schongau / Altenstadt - For a long time this year, the parachutists could not hold competitions due to the restrictions caused by Corona.

But now things are happening in rapid succession.

Most recently, the German championship in target jumping and the Germany Cup were on the program.

The jumpers from the Schongau area were very successful.

Sports promotion group

The conditions at the

German championship were

n't really

easy

.

The sports field in Bodenfelde (Lower Saxony), lined with trees and houses, on which the target mat was located, "managed its own wind and thermal laws," reported Sergeant Laura Heck.

Nevertheless, the jumpers from Altenstadt coped well with the conditions.

In the end, "no competitor in the sports promotion group went empty-handed," said Heck.

Victorious at the German championship

In the team competition (which included eight jumps), the first set with Sergeant Stefan Wiesner, Sergeant Christian Kautzmann, Sergeant Kai Erthel, Sergeant Robin Griesheimer and Sergeant Leon This took first place out of six participants.

The quintet had a total deviation of 34 centimeters.

Four athletes were rated per run, the worst result of the five was deleted.

In the seventh round, the Altenstadters only recorded a deviation of one centimeter.

Griesheimer, Kautzmann and Erthel each recorded a "zero".

One centimeter was measured for Wiesner, this came to two centimeters - he was the "stringer".

Silver went to the ESV Eilenburg team (94 centimeters) around the former Altenstadter Marco Pflüger.

The second team of the sports promotion group won the bronze medal.

Sergeant Major Elischa Weber, Sergeant Tatjana Gustke, Sergeant Nils Kammer and Heck came to a deviation of 95 centimeters.

Since there were only four of the troop, they had no possibility of a cancellation result.

There was an extra jump for the final men's individual competition, for which the ten best jumpers qualified.

Wieser won the championship title ahead of Griesheimer with the same number of points.

Both had a deviation of nine centimeters, Wiesner had the larger number of zeros.

Bronze went to Sascha Lasotta from the “Paratec Factory Team” (13).

In the junior division, only Altenstadter won the medals - Griesheimer (9) won ahead of Kammer (18) and this (23).

Gustke (13) won the women’s ranking, Heck (52) came third.

Also at the front of the Germany Cup

The Altenstadter jumpers also took various podium places a week later at the

Germany Cup

in Varrelbusch (Lower Saxony).

The venue near Cloppenburg is "notorious for high wind speeds", reported jumper Laura Heck.

The wind also caused some difficulties for the jumpers at the beginning.

Nevertheless, the team from Altenstadt (This, Kammer, Kautzmann, Erthel, Gustke) won with 50 points ahead of ESV Eilenburg (74) and “Compaq” (132).

In the men's individual standings, two Altenstadters were clearly ahead: Erthel won ahead of Kammer.

After eight jumps, both had a deviation of only ten centimeters.

Erthel won because he had a "zero" more than Kammer, who was also happy about the junior victory.

Gustke (10) won the women ahead of Heck (28).

The Altenstadters were not only satisfied because of the podium places.

Because at the same time they met other standards with regard to the World Cup in Russia in 2021.

Gerhard Wagner with a strong comeback

In recent years, Gerhard Wagner has primarily appeared as the organizer of the World Cup in Herzogsägmühle and as a referee in international competitions.

Since this year he has “rediscovered his love for competitive jumping”, says the Schongauer.

At the

German championship

in Bodenfelde, the former world champion in target jumping competed again - and showed that he has not forgotten anything.

Wagner, who used to be a member of the Altenstadt sports promotion group himself, did not allow himself to be disturbed by sometimes difficult conditions and won the master's title in the master’s class (jumpers over 50 years of age).

Wagner placed all eight jumps on the measuring disc.

With a total deviation of 14 centimeters, he won ahead of Reinhold Haibel (Offino Kempten / 25) and Marco Pflüger (FSV Eilenburg / 27).

Even in the general men's class the title was tangible.

Wagner, who received the Silver Laurel Leaf for his earlier successes, had sovereignly qualified for the final of the top ten.

In the last jump his deviation was two centimeters, with a total of 16 centimeters he landed in fifth place.

Only three centimeters were missing from bronze and only seven centimeters from gold.

About the competitors lying in front of him, Wagner said: “The four deserve that.

As a professional, it's a must anyway to be at the front.

Above all, the currently best target jumper in the world, Stefan Wiesner, is the measure of all things anyway. ”The Schongauer jumps for the“ Paratec Factory Team ”, a factory team of a parachute manufacturer from Saarland.

The goal in future competitions is "to annoy the professional teams of all nations a little," said Wagner with a smile.
