The Los Angeles Lakers unconvincingly opened her performances in a bubble in Orlando, causing many to doubt her ability to go all the way.
But after the loss to Portland in Game 1 of the first-round series, the team of LeBron James and Anthony Davis is just hot.
Tonight (Wednesday through Thursday) in the first game of the NBA Finals series, the Lakers defeated Miami 98-116 and are now three wins away from the best league championship in the world.
It was Miami that started the game better, and four minutes before the end of the first quarter it went up to 12:25.
But from here the purple yellows started sniping outside the arc, reversed the result and went down to the half with a 48:65 advantage.
In the second half the difference only swelled to 32, and in the last quarter the Eastern champion took advantage of the Garbage Time to minimize damage and finish the game "only" at minus 18.
The Lakers were led as usual by Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
AD was the leading scorer with 34 points (10 of 10 from the line), picked up 9 rebounds and delivered 5 assists.
King James settled for 25 points, but was close to a triple-double with 13 rebounds and 9 assists.
The assisting team included Cantabius Caldwell-Pop with 13 points, Danny Green with 11 and Alex Caruso with 10.
On the losing side Jimmy Butler led with 23 points and 5 assists, Kendrick Nan with 18, Tyler Hiro 14 and Jay Crowder with 12. If Adbaio (8) and Goran Dragic (6) were injured during the second half and it is currently unclear Will they be able to participate in the rest of the series.
According to estimates Adbayo should be fit for Game 2 on the night between Friday and Saturday, while the Slovenian's injury is more serious and he may not return to the series.
