At a good time, Maccabi Tel Aviv also strengthened with foreign acquisitions.
Today (Sunday) the Yellows announced the signing of Serbian striker Alexander Peshic (28) from El Etihad.
"I heard a lot about Maccabi Tel Aviv from Orosh Nikolic, Predrag Rajkovic and Nikola Mitrovic," the Serb said after the signing.
"They told me that Maccabi Tel Aviv is always competing for all the titles and I am excited to join such a large club."
The 28-year-old Peshic is a tall striker who previously played for Radnicki (Serbia), Cretan (Greece), Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova) and Vigodina (Serbia).
In 2014 he joined Toulouse and after two mediocre years, signed in the summer of 2016 in Atlanta.
The Serb had a very difficult time in Italy, showed weak ability and played in the Narazzi uniform for only 83 minutes throughout the season.

The following summer he signed with the Red Star Belgrade, scored 25 league goals and helped his team win the Serbian championship, while being crowned the top scorer and "player of the season" in the local league.
The very Saudi Saudi Etihad was impressed with Peshich that season and in the summer they paid 4.2 million euros for him.
However, the back-up striker had a hard time recovering the numbers from the 2017/18 season and after 11 games and one goal, was loaned to Seoul.
In the Korean league he scored 10 goals and recently finished his loan spell and returned to El Etihad.
