Mercato: at PSG, the departures of players deferred in January?

2020-10-04T18:59:42.882Z

Paris must sell but few of its players want to leave the club and its comfortable conditions. Except surprise, the operation is therefore postponed

It's a fad since the pharaonic double investment Neymar-Mbappé of 2017 (402 million euros in all): PSG must sell to balance its accounts and stay in the nails of financial fair play.

Due to the health crisis, UEFA this year will adapt but will not give in on the principle of the club which must not spend more than what it perceives.

This summer, by multiplying the paying loans, the PSG did not force the addition but it will still have to sell while he lent Alphonse Areola to Aston Villa and sold Loïc Mbe Soh to Nottingham Forest for some 5 million d 'euros.

A nice shot but a drop of water in the ocean.

The transfer window closes its doors this Monday at midnight.

There is little chance that a high market value and / or an undesirable in the eyes of Leonardo - like Julian Draxler, Thilo Kehrer or even Gana Gueye - leaves the club of the capital.

The same problem this winter?

Especially after the stroke of blood from Thomas Tuchel, regretting Thursday at a press conference a less strong workforce than last season.

The free departures of Thiago Silva, Thomas Meunier and Edinson Cavani have considerably reduced the payroll, allowing the succession of paying loans, as with the arrival of Danilo Pereira.

The accession to the final of the Champions League during the Final 8 in Lisbon also gave more margins but granted no madness while in the spring the PSG paid 58 million euros, bonus included, for the purchase of Mauro Icardi.

Unless there is a surprise departure on Monday, PSG will have to find a way out during the next transfer window, the winter one, usually a correction market and fairly calm.

It is next January that most should see more clearly.

Thomas Tuchel will indeed have started to establish his priorities, especially in the midfield where competition is fierce.

Draxler and Gueye could see their playing time decrease as the start of the season, for various reasons, has put them in the spotlight.

But the Parisian management risks being confronted in three months with the same problem as this summer and at the beginning of autumn: the players are happy in Paris where they enjoy a comfortable contract.

They do not have the idea to give it up, nor to lower their lifestyle.
