Cristiano Ronaldo's legal battle against the man who accused him of rape in his suite at a Las Vegas resort more than a decade ago is heading for another hearing before a federal judge in Nevada, ESPN reported.
For now, no date has been set for the trial but the district judge where the incident took place, Jennifer Dorsey said she would hear the parties' claims and decide for herself whether Catherine Miorga was mentally fit to enter into a quiet deal with the Portuguese star who paid her $ 375,000 in compensation.
As of yesterday, Ronaldo's lawyer Peter Christiansen had refused to comment on the news.
Majora's lawyers, led by Leslie Mark Stubble, did not respond to emails about the judge's ruling on September 30 but for them it is a welcome step and they are expected to confirm their participation in the hearing in the coming days.
Majorga, 37, is a former teacher and model who lives in the Las Vegas area.
