The storm surrounding the confrontation between Eyal Berkovich and Miri Regev on the program "Ofira and Berkovich" continues to make waves.
The Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, who threatened to torpedo Berkowitz's appointment as coach of the Israeli national team if he does not back down from the statement in which he defined the Likud party as a "criminal organization," has no regrets.
"I repeat my statement that Eyal Berkowitz does not deserve to serve as the national coach of the Israeli team at the value and educational level," Regev said today.
"He cannot serve as a role model for children, teenagers and adults with his statement that he called one and a half million Likud members members of a criminal organization, for no injustice in their hands and thus harmed the good name of many of the citizens of the State of Israel."
In addition, Regev called on Sports Minister Hili Trooper, who last night condemned her threats, not to intervene in the appointment process for the national team coach.
Berkowitz sees himself as a candidate, although it has not yet been determined that current coach Willy Rotensteiner will leave.
"I ask the Attorney General to instruct the Minister of Culture and Sports not to make any statement, or to act directly and indirectly on the issue of the national coach," said Regev.
"This will be a criminal offense. The Ministry of Culture and Sports, budgets the Football Association and therefore there is a conflict of interest here regarding any statement of any kind or action of any kind by the Minister of Culture and Sports regarding the identity of the coach, contrary to my statement." Will continue to express himself on the issue in a way that may have an impact on the selection of the national coach, I will turn the issue to the ombudsman.

This morning, MK Miki Zohar joined the attack on former footballer, who was interviewed by Gali Israel radio and justified Miri Regev's words.
"Barko is doing everything to torpedo the continuation of our coalition - why not torpedo his appointment as coach?" Zohar said.
"Everyone has their own moves, we also have our own moves to hurt him in an attempt to be Israel's coach. In the end, a national coach should not only coach the left."
Zohar was asked if his opinion would change in the case of Berkowitz apologizing for calling the Likud a "criminal organization," and saying in response: "I think we can do without his apology. Crime - they decided not to download, it has consequences. "
