Erding - After the 1-0 victory in Schongau on Friday, the setback followed: With a 1: 4 (0: 0, 1: 2, 0: 2) defeat, the Erding Gladiators from Buchloe returned on Sunday evening.

The Pirates were simply more determined in front of the gate.

The wear and tear made itself felt among the guests.

It got off to a good start.

The Erdinger team, which this time had come with three complete lines of defense and attack, immediately took command.

Once again very strong: Marco Babic, who repeatedly fought for the record.

The problem, however, was that the guests didn't create any clear scoring opportunities.

Buchloe, on the other hand, repeatedly countered dangerously and was more dangerous in the outnumbered game than the outnumbered gladiators.

In the middle third then the first big opportunity for the Gladiators, but Florian Zimmermann messed up the disc in front of the goal.

The Allgäu were now much more snappy in the duels - and happier in the end.

A deflected shot by Lucas Ruf could not be saved even for Erding's top goalie Christoph Schedlbauer (24th).

But Erding came back quickly.

Daniel Krzizok placed the target flat in the Buchloer mesh, roughly from the face-off point.

With the next attack, Erdinger almost turned the game, but Konstantin Mühlbauer's shot went over the bar (34th).

Shortly afterwards it became critical for the Erdinger, because with Zimmermann and Alex Gantschnig two players hit the penalty box.

The gladiators seemed to be making their way through quite well.

But just as Zimmermann came back on the ice, the doorbell rang.

Schedlbauer had blocked the first shot with the schooner, but he was powerless against Christian Wittmann's additional shot.

Everything was still possible for the guests, but Buchloe had a much better start in the final section.

The Allgäu forced Schedlbauer to parade twice with the first attack.

Once he cleared his shoulder, the second time he was there with a very long leg (41st).

But it happened in the 47th minute.

Wittmann had struck again.

The final decision was made in the 56th minute in the power play.

A bank fine had preceded it.

Maxi Schorer scored 4-1 on the basis of Michal Petrak and Robert Wittmann.

It is now high time for Erding to be allowed to compete in their home hall.

On Friday it's up against the Kempten Sharks.
