Adrian Wozniacki reports tonight (Thursday) that Tyrone Lou has summed up his terms at the Los Angeles Clippers and is expected to coach the team for the next five years.
Lou has been Doc Rivers' assistant at the Clippers since 2019 and after the latter left his post at the end of the loss to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals after leading 1: 3 in the series but was eventually eliminated after three straight losses and a painful 4: 3.
This is Lou's second term at the Clippers, when he will be the head coach of the team for the first time after he was also employed at the Clippers in 2013-2015 as an assistant coach.
In 2015 he was appointed assistant to David Blatt at the Cleveland Cavaliers, and in the middle of the 2015/16 season replaced the Israeli in his role, winning with the Cubs and LeBron James a historic and memorable championship after a 3-4 victory over Golden State in the final series.
In the following two seasons he returned with the team to the final, but lost twice to the Warriors in the final series, leaving the team in 2018.
