VIDEO - The Premier League is about to deliver a superb Saturday of matches, including the Everton-Liverpool derby and the clash between Manchester City and Arsenal.

English football fans will be served!

This Saturday, the Premier League has scheduled several exciting matches with among others the derby Everton-Liverpool and Manchester City-Arsenal.

Chelsea and Manchester United face Southampton and Newcastle respectively.

Everton-Liverpool: more than a derby (1:30 p.m., Canal + and RMC Sport 1)

It's much more than a derby this season.

This Saturday, at the opening of the 5th day of the Premier League, Everton receives Liverpool.

Beyond the rivalry between the two clubs in the city of Merseyside, this confrontation promises to be very interesting because it could well be that the two formations both play the leading roles in 2020-2021.

The Reds (5th, 9 points), champions of England 2019-2020, are among the favorites to their own succession.

But they don't look as dominant as they did last year, as their humiliating 7-2 loss to Aston Villa can attest.

For their part, the Toffees (1st) made a perfect start to the season: 12 points out of 12 possible.

The Ancelotti paw, arrived at the end of 2019, is having an effect;

just like the good recruitment this summer (Allan, Abdoulaye Doucouré and James Rodriguez).

The Italian technician can also count on the excellent form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, already author of 6 goals in 4 games.

The derby promises to be hot, and perhaps full of lessons for the rest of the championship.

Manchester City-Arsenal: the Citizens on the revival (6.30 p.m., Canal + and RMC Sport 1)

After a rather disappointing start to the season, with a heavy 2-5 defeat against Leicester City, Manchester City are only in 14th place (4 points) but with one game less.

Pep Guardiola's men must therefore revive this Saturday, at home, against Arsenal.

The task promises to be difficult because the team led by Mikel Arteta (4th, 9 points) seems to have started well since the end of last season (victories in the FA Cup and during the Community Shield).

The defensive-offensive transitions of the Gunners, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, could pose serious problems for the Citizens.

It may also be the occasion to see Arsenal's latest signing, Thomas Partey, bought 50 million euros from Atlético Madrid.

To see if the Spanish coach of the London club will line him up from the start, if he will bring him in during the game ... or if he will prefer to give him time before launching it.

Manchester City's winning streak against Arsenal in the Premier League

Chelsea-Southampton (4 p.m., Canal + Sport, RMC Sport 1) and Newcastle-Manchester United (9 p.m., Canal + Décalé, RMC Sport 1)

Other teams that are candidates for the podium, or even the title, will be on the lawn this Saturday.

Chelsea (7th, 7 points) faces Southampton.

Frank Lampard's Blues have the opportunity to confirm after their great success (4-0) against Crystal Palace on the last day of the championship.

Offensive summer rookies, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, will be particularly watched against a lower team on paper.

However, be careful, because if the Saints are only 11th in the standings, with 6 points, they still remain on two consecutive wins (2-0 against West Bromwich and 0-1 against Burnley).

Manchester United, for its part, travels to Newcastle.

The Red Devils (16th, 3 points but with one game less) started this new edition of the Premier League badly, notably with a big 1-6 defeat against Tottenham, a direct competitor.

Facing the Magpies, Paul Pogba and his teammates will have to win at all costs to avoid seeing the crisis worsen;

the English press already mentions two names - Pochettino and Allegri - to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Newcastle (9th, 7 points), who has made a good start to the season, will be able to count on his wisp Allan Saint-Maximin, who has just extended for six years, to wreak havoc in the Mancunian defense.

Another good match in perspective!
