The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced yesterday (Thursday) that an indictment will be filed against the person who organized the flight attended by Emiliano Sala in January 2019, which ended in a tragic crash that claimed the lives of the pilot and the footballer himself.

CAA chairman Richard Stevenson said the organization he heads "filed an indictment against David Henderson following violations related to the fatal plane crash on his way to England in January 2019."

Henderson, 66, who brokered the flight on which Sala boarded, He is due to appear in a "negligent" manner. For this reason he will face a judge in the city of Cardiff in Wales, with the date of the hearing set for October 26, after he was already on trial in a British court at the end of last September. Emiliano Sala was acquired by French side Cardiff Manant for € 17 million in early 2019. The player boarded a private flight with only the pilot present on the light aircraft.

An investigation by the British Aviation Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) has determined that the pilot lost control of the aircraft while trying to maneuver at too high a speed, with the assessment being that he was trying to cope with severe weather conditions.
