Emiliano Sala was acquired by French side Cardiff Manant for € 17 million in early 2019. The player boarded a private flight with only the pilot present on the light aircraft.
An investigation by the British Aviation Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) has determined that the pilot lost control of the aircraft while trying to maneuver at too high a speed, with the assessment being that he was trying to cope with severe weather conditions.
