2020-10-17T18:39:54.919Z

PSG easily won in Ivry this Saturday 35-25. But the French champions deplore the knee injury of Nikola Karabatic.

We can undoubtedly put this down to the already infernal cadences of the calendar.

Less than 48 hours after receiving the Norwegians from Elverum in the Champions League, PSG were already back in the Starligue this Saturday afternoon in Ivry.

A little earlier than expected to also respect the curfew and accommodate a small number of public with a limit of 1000 spectators.

PSG had no trouble winning 35-25, as expected.

What was less was the injury loss of Nikola Karabatic.

The star of the hand tricolor came out, hit in the right knee.

We have been playing for 15'27 '' and at that time, Paris leads 12-8.

In the air in front of the Ivry zone, Karabatic tries and succeeds a pass towards his pivot Kamil Syprzak.

But the double Olympic champion on the action is unbalanced and he falls badly.

His knee goes loose and twists.

Supported by teammates, the center-half of PSG comes out standing but grimacing.

He obviously did not come back into play during the match.

The severity of his injury was not known this Saturday night.

Nikola Karabatic will take exams on Monday which will determine the duration of his unavailability.

It will undoubtedly miss some of the next meetings of the Parisians confronted with an insane calendar.

They will play Thursday in Kielce in Poland in the Champions League, at Tremblay three days later in the Starligue, then at home against Vardar Skopje (C1) and Limoges (Starligue) in two weeks, before the international break which of course concerns the Parisian. .

“We play every two days, so it's complicated for the organizations” regretted Yann Genty, the new Parisian goalkeeper.

After a great battle, Paris won face to face with @ USIvryHB!

The Rouge et Bleu thus won a fifth victory in as many @LidlStarligue days!

This did not prevent Paris from achieving a fifth success in as many Starligue games.

A victory which allows PSG to consolidate its place at the top of the standings ahead of Nantes forced to postpone, this Saturday, a few hours before the match, its duel against Tremblay.

The club said in a statement that a new case of Covid was detected in its group this Saturday and that its "workforce is in an incubation period".
