The Football Association announced the reduction of the number of clubs participating in the Premier League to twelve, as of the 2022-2023 season, during the Federation’s General Assembly meeting held at the Federation’s headquarters in Damascus.
During the meeting, amendments to the regulations of the Competitions Committee, the Discipline Committee, Disciplinary Procedures and Players' Affairs were discussed, and it was confirmed that the league would start on time next Wednesday.
The head of the Syrian Olympic Committee, Firas Mualla confirmed that the audience will be present in the stands to decorate the stadiums, taking into account the precautionary measures required to address the Corona virus, indicating that the sports leadership supports the work that the Football Association does, calling on clubs to cooperate with the Federation and understand the reality of stadiums and the disciplinary and administrative decisions that are taken from Before the Football Association Board of Directors.
In turn, President of the Football Association, Brigadier General Hatem Al-Ghayeb, explained that the federation seeks to remedy the negative points that hinder the development of Syrian football and is working with all its energies to provide the public with a good performance for the teams, especially the first team, which awaits an important entitlement in the double qualifiers for the Asian and World Finals.
It is noteworthy that during the conference, a number of football experts were honored, headed by Brigadier General Farouk Buzo and Dr. Ahmed Jabban.
