"OM is a second-class club in Europe": Pascal Olmeta's charge against Marseille leaders

2020-10-20T15:43:02.415Z

INTERVIEW - The former OM goalkeeper (between 1990 and 1993), aged 59, takes an uncompromising look at the current leaders.

LE FIGARO.

- What does OM inspire you, back in the Champions League after seven years of absence?

Pascal OLMETA.

-

It's a young, smiling team, with qualities.

We must avoid the fiasco of the last campaign (2013-2014) with 0 points on the clock.

This team is better armed but there should be no injuries because the workforce is not sufficiently provided.

Would qualifying for the round of 16 be an achievement?

Yes, that's all I want them, but it won't be easy with Olympiakos, Porto or Manchester City.

I appreciate the work of Villas-Boas, the star of the team with Steve Mandanda.

He's an excellent coach, he conveys emotions, seems to be in control.

But when you see he was on the verge of leaving the club in the offseason, that's not how you see yourself in the future.

The lack of continuity is a real problem at OM.
