"This lecture came from a place where both young and older players came to consult me, mainly because of the challenging places I played."

The Betar Jerusalem stopper, Tal Ben Haim, began working before the Corona era on a lecture on willpower and transmitting mental messages. With the help of the vast experience he has gained, he hopes to get the message across. "This lecture came from a place where young and older players came to consult with me, mainly because of the challenging places I played," Ben Haim tells attendees. "My goal here is to empower athletes in general because I "I think we are missing a lot of talents that are lost here due to the fact that no one who believes in them mentally directs them properly."

Ben Haim went through a long process of building a story, presentation, presentations and graphic packaging in order to prepare the product for the general public.

But after a successful pilot and ahead of a glorious launch, the corona virus burst into our lives and put the whole project on hold.

It needs rethinking, but these days, after building a different platform for zoom lectures in the Corona Age, the player began to deliver lectures to various bodies, from cruiser fighters to school children, until he could lecture frontally in front of people.

Waited long weeks for the premiere, but after that he has already become a key player.

"Suddenly the unbelievable happens. One of the brakes that is supposed to open stretches the muscle and lies on the grass in pain. Obviously there is no chance he will play against Arsenal. The assistant coach approaches him, takes off the team jersey and puts it on me."

In one of the lectures, the brake tells of the beginning of his journey in Europe.

In the summer of 2004, Ben Haim took off for exams in English Bolton and went with her to a training camp in Portugal, after which it was decided to sign him.

From that moment until his debut in the team, three long months passed and he says:

"At that time, the English league was the best in the world and only Eyal Berkowitz played for us. I came to sign the contract and I see that they offer me the same salary as Maccabi Tel Aviv offered me. "I can actually earn more. I'm facing a difficult decision. I'm young, far from home, alone in England, and as always I turn to my father, who for the second time in his career - just like before I signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv - tells me not to think about salary: ' Even with half the money, I prefer it to be abroad and not in Israel.

Listen to me Tal, sign what they give you, do not look at the money.

When you are good, the money will come.

It's enough to have one year in Bolton and the money will come.

I told him: 'But Dad, I came to sign with Maccabi as a soldier and you told me not to look at the money, I would sign NIS 3,850.

Now I'm coming to England, after three years of proving myself in the country, after passing exams, I can get more money in the country, you tell me not to look at the money and sign?

When do you want me to make money? '

My dad answers me, 'Don't worry, one year will be good and the big teams will chase you, the biggest.'

"I signed. The more time passes and the more I listen to my dad I have more confidence. And yet, something like more than two months I sit on the bench, in the first game I shared it was for a few minutes and the coach says, 'We bought it for the future.' The club, but for me my future is today and not another year or two.In every conversation with my dad I find myself complaining that I am not allowed to play. After a little over two months we talk and there is a game against Arsenal on Saturday, I tell him that my dream is to play such a game I do not understand how I got into such a situation and how after so many years nothing gets easier.Later that day my dad calls me and tells me: 'I booked a flight for Friday, I'll get to the game against Arsenal and I promise you're playing. Lou: "Where are you getting this from? Dad, I'm not playing, get used to the game and I'm not in." He insists and says to me: "Tal, I'm coming and you're playing." The next day I went to practice and after that I talked to my dad again - Both before and after training. I started to get upset and said to him: 'Enough dad, leave, I'm not in the squad, the exercises are very clear' and he continues to insist with the 'Do not worry, you are in the squad and playing'.

"

Shay in the morning I go to training and my dad and I do not talk because he took off early from Israel to London.

In training they make an 11 on 11 game, I'm with the substitutes and suddenly the unbelievable happens.

One of the brakes that is supposed to open stretches the muscle and lies on the grass in pain.

Clearly there is no chance he will play tomorrow.

The assistant coach approaches him, takes off the team jersey and puts it on me.

Honestly, I did not quite grasp what was happening in those moments on a professional level, I was just glad my dad was on his way to tell him.

"Do not look at the money. When you are good, the money will come."

"Every young player or child needs the adult to believe in him. My father always put in my head that hard work, perseverance and self-discipline will also bring success and a good livelihood on their side."

"After training I come to the field to pick up my dad, hug him and tell him nothing. I do not even know how to tell him. We drive on the way to my house, talk normally and suddenly I burst out laughing. I can no longer resist and feel he deserves this happiness. I tell him 'Dad, I'm opening tomorrow, the brake is on and I'm at 11.' In the car Shlomi Shabbat's song 'At Traptoni's Beach' was played, he turns up the music to Paul Volium and we sing, hug and jump in the car from excitement, a moment of life. Arrive home, prepare a Friday meal and he says to me: 'Listen Tal, two months here you ask why you are not playing, now is the moment of truth, prove in front of Arsenal that you are a player'. I was very excited but I had a great game. We beat Arsenal 0: 1 and I Takes a place in the lineup. A year and a half later, I'm still in Bolton, coming home after a workout at the gym and sitting with my wife Michal for dinner. The phone rings, Pini Zahavi on the line, he says to me, 'Chelsea want you.' Closes the deal at a salary 16 times higher than what I earned at Bolton.

"What message do I want to convey? The first is that every young player or child needs the adult to believe in him. My father always put in my head that hard work, perseverance and self-discipline will also bring success and a good livelihood on their side. In Bolton's case he strengthened me to be patient with money and Minutes of the game and in both it paid off for me.Also the fact that the week he came to England told me I would play in the squad even though it was not planned. What my father did was produce reality before it happened, it is the power of faith. There is math that is nowhere defined, where you can "Seeing the result even before it happens - I only realized it in retrospect. Today as a father, I understand the importance I have as a parent to back up and strengthen my children to believe in their abilities. In this way my father serves as my source of inspiration."
