"Sean Weissman still has to adapt. Get used to the language, the other players on the team, the movement ... he was with the Israeli team and therefore could not work with us."
These are the words of Real Valladolid coach Sergio in an interview with one of the local radio stations.
Sean Weissman did not expect such an opening at Real Valladolid.
The striker, who arrived with great fanfare as the most valuable player in the club's history (cost 4 million euros), has not yet left a mark on the purple team and the club hopes he will start paying bills soon, with games expected to collect victories and points in the near future.
Valladolid started the season with just three points out of 15 possible and is below the red line, still waiting for output from the most valuable player in its history.
"Weissman has certain qualities that can help us, we are missing goals. But there are circumstances that prevented him from improving the connection with the other players: religion (Yom Kippur), the Israeli team ... this is something we take into account at the beginning of the season," added Sergio.

In the 6 weeks he has been a Real Valladolid player, Weissman has twice spent extended periods with the Israeli team that played in the League of Nations and in the Euro 2020 qualifiers, and in addition he missed the game against Salta Vigo due to Yom Kippur.
The Israeli striker also moved to the Spaniards when they were already at the end of the preparations for the new season and missed all the preparation games.
Real Valladolid played 540 minutes in the league this season, but Weissman was on the field with only 169 of them and did not score.
For comparison, last season Wolfsberger played 2,880 minutes and the Israeli striker is a partner in 2,662 of them.
That is, already now, Weissman has missed more minutes than any season in his previous team.
Weissman was acquired for 4 million euros - a record amount - so that Valladolid will be the scorer and the club hopes that with continuous activity in the coming weeks within the club, he will accumulate minutes, start finding the net and rescue the team from where they go down to the sub-league.
