Danny Abdia is training in Atlanta ahead of the draft (Danny Abdia's Twitter account)

Less than a month before the draft, Danny Abdia's stock appears to be on the rise.

Last night (Thursday) it was reported in the American media that a Golden State delegation that includes Steve Kerr, came to Atlanta especially to get a close impression of the young Israeli talent, in what was defined as a "very positive meeting."

According to Athletic, the Warriors were impressed not only by Abdia's abilities, but also - perhaps most importantly - by his character.

According to reporter Ethan Strauss, "The Warriors' main insight from training with Abdia is that this is a great kid with an impressive work ethic."

The reporter added that "the Warriors are still in the process of gathering information on the top talent to mark the draft," and it is still unclear whether they are considering taking Avdia in the second pick or making a trade and trying to pick him later, though the meeting itself teaches quite a bit.

"If the Warriors were so confident they wanted to give up a second pick in the draft to get a veteran and proven player, they would not have made it all the way to Atlanta to test their loss," Strauss noted, analyzing the match of Israeli talent to Golden State, a team unlike other teams. If they are selected first in the draft, they will do everything to compete for the championship as early as next season.

Report: Steve Kerr and Golden State met with Danny Abdia - and "thrilled"

It's getting closer?

"It's not entirely clear in what area Abdia can help the Warriors right now," Strauss analyzed.

"He is a great forward with good ball control, a trait that somewhat clashes with the qualities of Drymond Green and Eric Pascal. On the other hand, the Warriors do have a shortage of playmakers, and Abdia has shown in Israel the ability to create shooting situations for himself and others. "In the NBA, he can help Golden State release Steph Kerry to play more and more without the ball. Abdia also thrives on explosive and passing attacks, an aspect that the Warriors love as well."

"Abdia has also shown reasonable post-up abilities at Maccabi Tel Aviv, and the Warriors may think he can fill the vacuum created in this area since Kevin Durant left for Brooklyn. In any case, if Golden State chooses Abdia it will be to restore the diversity it has lost in recent years. Without Andre Iguodala "Without more veteran players thinking about delivery before the shot, the Warriors did not play in their usual style last season. Abdia can help in this area, and can help the Warriors get back to presenting the basketball that made them champions in previous seasons," Strauss concluded.

Abdia's stay in Atlanta, which has become his "training base" in recent months, is apparently helping him, and more and more teams exposed to his abilities and personality are convinced that he deserves to be chosen as a high-ranking player.

According to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, who rated Abdia second in his last mock draft, he tweeted tonight that "some of the NBA scouts and executives rank Abdia first in the draft. Don't be surprised or hear Abdia's name mentioned in the top 3 more and more in the near future. ".
