Less than a month before the draft, Danny Abdia's stock appears to be on the rise.
Last night (Thursday) it was reported in the American media that a Golden State delegation that includes Steve Kerr, came to Atlanta especially to get a close impression of the young Israeli talent, in what was defined as a "very positive meeting."
According to Athletic, the Warriors were impressed not only by Abdia's abilities, but also - perhaps most importantly - by his character.
According to reporter Ethan Strauss, "The Warriors' main insight from training with Abdia is that this is a great kid with an impressive work ethic."
The reporter added that "the Warriors are still in the process of gathering information on the top talent to mark the draft," and it is still unclear whether they are considering taking Avdia in the second pick or making a trade and trying to pick him later, though the meeting itself teaches quite a bit.
"If the Warriors were so confident they wanted to give up a second pick in the draft to get a veteran and proven player, they would not have made it all the way to Atlanta to test their loss," Strauss noted, analyzing the match of Israeli talent to Golden State, a team unlike other teams. If they are selected first in the draft, they will do everything to compete for the championship as early as next season.

"He is a great forward with good ball control, a trait that somewhat clashes with the qualities of Drymond Green and Eric Pascal. "In the NBA, he can help Golden State release Steph Kerry to play more and more without the ball. Abdia also thrives on explosive and passing attacks, an aspect that the Warriors love as well."
